How To Feel Like A Million Bucks…Every Day!
What you do in the first few minutes of waking up sets the tone for the rest of the day…that’s a fact, Jack.
This is why it is important to begin each day with thoughts of happiness, success, great health and prosperity.
Waking up late, bogging down your body with processed foods for breakfast (or skipping it altogether and killing your blood sugar levels), filling your head with doom and gloom from the TV or newspaper and then assaulting your nervous system with caffeine is a recipe for illness, physically and mentally.
Though I know that the previous paragraph represents the status quo, I humbly wish to offer an alternative.
If you’re tired of being tired, and aren’t afraid to travel the path less followed, then I present to you my tried and true formula for feeling like a million bucks…Every Day!
“I challenge every one of you to live the following program
exactly as I have laid it out for 21 days straight and watch
your world go from black and white to nuclear Technicolor!”
1. Set your alarm to wake up 40 minutes earlier than usual, and upon awakening, spend your first 10 minutes giving thanks for all that you have and practice seeing yourself in your minds eye as you were born to be…successful, happy, passionate and loving.
Pledge that today, you will speak and think only positive, upbeat things. Get rid of the crap and the negativity…in other words, no more “Stinkin’ Thinkin’!
2. Get up, go to the bathroom and then immediately drink 16 ounces of water. You’ll need plenty of water to function at your highest level possible, so go hydrate!
3. Do 10 minutes of slow, controlled stretching (specially’ for the back) and deep breathing. Don’t ignore the breathing part of this; it will help you to stay relaxed, focused, and enable you to better oxygenate your entire body.
This will allow you to gradually wake up, warm up your muscles and get yourself centered.
4. Go outside and do 20 minutes of cardio, the first 10 minutes at a set, moderate pace, and the last 10 minutes alternating between 30 seconds of a fast walk and 30 seconds of a fast run.
Don’t put on headphones and listen to music…that isolates you from your environment. Instead, be aware of the beauty around you, listen to the birds singing and see the world as a child does…with curiosity and wonderment.
5. Take a hot shower, then turn it to ice cold for the last 30 seconds. The ice cold water will cause your body to release adrenalin, which will in turn strengthen your internal organs and make your mind and clarity of thought razor sharp.
Focus on breathing deeply and relaxing…don’t fight the cold water, just accept and experience it. You’ll find that by doing this you will quickly transcend from feeling like a human Popsicle to actually enjoying the ice-cold water washing over you and the amazing feelings of vitality that will follow.
6. Put on some good classical music (from the baroque period is a good choice) while you’re eating and getting ready to start your day.
Though you may not be a fan of either (yet) it’s a proven fact that classical music causes heart beat and pulse rate to relax to the beat of the music.
As the body becomes relaxed and alert, the mind is able to concentrate more easily. Furthermore, classical music decreases blood pressure and enhances the ability to learn.
7. Eat the following breakfast: 3 Egg whites w/ 1 yolk, bowl of razor cut all natural oatmeal with a pinch of Stevia (natural sweetener found at health food stores) blueberries and a few almonds.
This breakfast will give you the macronutrients & antioxidants that your body needs, as well as stabilizing your blood sugar levels for sustained energy & clarity of mind for the next few hours. Portion sizes should be adjusted according to needs.
Congratulations! You’ve re-connected to the universe spiritually, the world around you intrinsically, and you’ve nourished your mind, body and soul. Pull me aside after 21 days and let me know how it’s working for you!
Live with Passion!
